How much do you charge?
The price will depend on a number of factors, such as the size of the office/building space, where you are moving to, what services you need, what exactly needs to be moved, etc. To get an estimate for your commercial move, please fill out a contact form for a free estimate. How can I schedule a move?
If you have already received your free estimate and are ready to proceed with the move, please give us a call at 312-244-2246.
What if I have other items that are not included in my estimate?
Not to worry! Just give your move coordinator a call and they will add or remove any items. They will also be your point of contact should you need any other service, and provide you with updates along the way.
Can you move my office plants?
We understand that plants add to the aesthetics of the office, but we cannot move them. There is no guarantee that they will arrive to your new location in the same condition. So instead it is recommended that you transport them yourself in order to keep them looking their best.
Are there any items that you will not move?
For the safety of our movers, there are various items that are not allowed on our trucks. If you have any questions in regards to why they are not allowed or are not sure about an item in particular, please contact your move coordinator.
Below is a list of items that cannot be moved:
- Propane tanks
- Aerosol cans
- Paints, varnishes, and paint thinners
- Matches and lighters
- Toxic substances
- Fire extinguishers
- Pool chemicals
- Household batteries
- Liquid bleach
- Rubbing alcohol
How can I change my move date?
If you need to change your move date or any details about your move, please contact your move coordinator. They will work with you throughout the moving process. Just keep in mind that changing the date may affect some aspects of the service.
What if my items are damaged during the move?
We will do everything we can to protect your items during the move, including securing your furniture and carefully wrapping fragile items. But if any damage does occur during the move, your building and items will be covered by a pre-determined amount established during the estimate.
Do you offer storage services?
Yes! Our climate-controlled facility is available to store your items for both long and short-term periods if needed. Here, they will be protected from fire, theft, and other elements for as long as needed.
Do you disconnect, move, and reconnect computers?
Absolutely. This service is available at an additional cost in which we will send a team in before the move to disconnect the computers, label and box up the wires, and reconnect them. Simply include it in the contact form or contact your move coordinator to add this service to your estimate.
Can you move our server room?
Yes. Our movers have experience with moving a number of servers and server racks. They will be the first of the items to load onto the truck, so it is unloaded and delivered to the IT department with as little downtime as possible.
What will my employees need to do before the move?
Your move coordinator will schedule a time to come to your location to review the moving process. This will include meeting with your employees, or several who are in charge of the move, and show you how to pack and label belongings. The coordinator will also show your team how to create a number scheme that the movers will understand. Afterwards, the coordinator will show the employees how to diagram the furniture layout for the office. The goal of this meeting is to help everyone understand that they are in charge of the moving process and what they need to do to get ready.
Do you move modular furniture?
Yes. Our moving team consists of several installers that will disassemble and reassemble this furniture at your new office.
What if I want to reconfigure my modular furniture at the new office?
This is possible, but it is important to let your move coordinator know so we can plan accordingly. You will also want to make sure that you have all of the right parts for the new layout. If not, the installer will let you know which parts are needed and may be able to help you order them.
Can I move my filing cabinets if they are still full?
Yes you can. We use a variety of equipment, including Spider Cranes and Space Gobblers, that can help move full filing cabinets and desks. This can also save time during the packing and unpacking process.
What do we do about boxes?
Chicago Office Movers can supply you with as many boxes and crates as needed. We can stack as many as 5 high and roll them on carts to accelerate the process. The crates are also more eco-friendly and often cheaper to rent than buying boxes. Just remember that if you decide to use crates, just stack them when you are done and we will come pick them up.
But if you use boxes, you will be responsible for their disposal.
Are your movers insured?
Absolutely. Each of our movers, vehicles, and your buildings are covered under our insurance policies. Our movers are also background-checked, trained, and experienced to treat your items as if they were our own during the moving process. We are one of the few movers in Chicago to hold a 10 million dollar liability policy, which is higher than the norm.
